New Delhi, October 21: In a major embarrassment for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, a video has caught Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, his cabinet colleagues Mohsin Raza and Ashutosh Tandon, and Bihar Governor Lalji Tandon "laughing" at the funeral of former UP and Uttarakhand CM N D Tiwari, who died on Thursday.

Tiwari, a veteran Congress leader, passed away on his 93th birthday following prolonged illness. His death evoked sorrow from across party lines, with leaders of all major political outfits attending his funeral on Friday.
Reacting to the clip which has landed Yogi and his two Ministers in dock, the Samajwadi Party said that it "exposes the real character of the BJP". The UP government should offer an explanation to the Opposition, apart from issuing an apology to the family and supporters of Tiwari, demanded SP spokesperson Anurag Bhadoriya.
UP Congress spokesperson Zishan Haider, who shared the video on Twitter, said the BJP "lacks sensitivity". He recalled that some of the party leaders in Madhya Pradesh "behaved in the same manner" during the kalash yatra of late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
