New Delhi, October 8: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Misa Bharti stoked a controversy after reportedly admitting the tussle between brothers Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav. Sensing that her statement has provided fodder to the political opponents, Bharti shifted the onus on media, accusing the scribes of "twisting" her remarks.

"My statement has been twisted. I had asked party workers to remain united and forget differences, the comment was not on our family. The family is one, no differences between us," said Bharti, who is currently an MP in the Rajya Sabha. Lalu Prasad's Daughter Misa Bharti Admits to Discord Between Her Brothers.

Bharti's contentious statement came on Sunday while addressing a  party meeting in Pataliputra, the Lok Sabha seat from where she intends to contest next year.

"There is some discord between the two brothers in our family," Bharti was reported as saying, further adding that it was "common these days that two brothers in any family have strained relations".

Her remarks may cause embarrassment to the party's top brass, which has so far maintained that the two brothers share a cordial relationship with no signs of strife.

Speaking to reporters last month, Lalu, who is currently jailed in Ranchi, said the speculations of rift within his family are "baseless". Not only his family, added Lalu, but Yadavs across Bihar are united to take on the "BJP government in the Centre and the Nitish Kumar regime in the state".
