Jaipur, May 16: With just six months to the assembly elections, the Rajasthan government is looking to woo the Muslim voters of the state. The Vasundhara Raje government is planning to develop 500 modern madrassas. These madrassas will be equipped with latest technologies to teach students.

State social justice and minorities affairs minister Arun Chaturvedi said that the government should develop 500 madrassas with modern infrastructure across the state. "We shall take up the development of the madrassas under the Adarsh Madarsa Yojana," reported Hindustan Times quoting the minister as saying. Chaturvedi also assured that students should get the best education and facilities in these madrassas which would not be less than any modern educational institutions.

According to the report, the madrassas selected under the scheme will be categorised as grade A institutions and shall be registered with the Rajasthan Madarsa Board. The government will be providing latest gadgets, furniture, globe charts, books, and math kit that of the minority community so that they should also have access to modern education.

The Adarsh Madarsa Yojna was announced by Raje in her budget speech. As per the report, the minister said, "The guidelines to developing Adarsh Madarasas have already been issued. A committee under the chairmanship of district collector will select the entitled madrasas, and on its recommendations, the resources and technology will be provided to them.” According to sources, the government has already started working in this direction. The officials are also told to expedite the work of setting up of these modern madrassas so that they can be presented as model centres of education.
