The much awaited 2019 Lok Sabha Elections are here. The phase 1 of the polling begins on April 11, 2019, Thursday. The campaigning for the first phases ended on Monday. In the voting on Thursday, a total of 91 Lok Sabha seats, across 20 states will be contested. In addition, assembly elections in four states- Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim would also take place on April 11. This election will choose the 17th Lok Sabha. The results for 2019 Lok Sabha elections will be announced on May 23. In general elections 2019, a total of 900 million voters are expected to cast their vote across 10 lakh polling stations. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Opposition Indian National Congress have sounded the poll bugle as soon as the election dates were announced. It remains to be seen whether the Narendra Modi government will return or the country will see a new Prime Minister.
