The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been declared winner from over 2,500 gram panchayat seats. The BJP is a far distant second with victory in 931 panchayat samitis. The position of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) appears further deteriorated as it was reported to be leading on only 163 village bodies. The Congress, meanwhile, emerged fourth with victory in 94 panchayat samities.

The Trinamool Congress has been declared winner from 2,467 Gram Panchayat seats so far, news agency PTI was told by a State Election Commission (SEC) official. The BJP, meanwhile, has bagged 386 seats, whereas, the CPI(M) has managed a victory on 94 seats. In terms of leads, the TMC is ahead on another set of 2,683 seats, whereas, the BJP and CPM are leading the poll battles in 231 and 163 gram panchayat seats, respectively.

The TMC has emerged winner with victory in over 1,500 seats of gram panchayat so far. But one of the intriguing points which results have shown so far is the trailing of Left and Congress way behind the BJP -- which had meagre electoral presence till the last elections.

The Trinamool Congress has wrested 52 seats so far - 22 from East Midnapore, 21 from South 24 Parganas, 4 from Cooch Behar, 1 from Murshidabad and 3 from East Burdwan.

The Trinamool Congress has been declared winner from three gram panchayat seats in East Burdwan district, reported ABP Ananda.
Mumbai, May 16: The West Bengal Assembly Elections Results 2018 are set to be declared in short time. The Election Commission of India (ECI) will soon begin the counting of votes, starting from 7 am. The main parties in the fray are All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), and the Congress.
The state of West Bengal has seen widespread violence during the period of elections over the years. Be it whatever year of elections, there has been rampant violence by the political parties involved. The barbarity of the violence has been so much so that this year the TMC candidates were elected unopposed in almost 34 percent of seats – a staggering rise from 10.66 percent in 2013 and 11 percent in 2003.
The Trinamool Congress, under the leadership of WB Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, is predicted to retain power in the majority of the seats. However, the thing that people be eyeing would be vying for the fact that will BJP would be able to up their vote share in the elections? Or will CPI (M) be able to make a comeback in the state it ruled for 34 years?
The previous election in 2013 saw Trinamool Congress emerge triumphant against the might Left front. The AITC, under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, won 1783 gram panchayat seats. The Left Front had won 708 seats, whereas the Congress managed to win only 233 seats.
The final results will take a long time to be out as the polling was done on ballot papers and not EVMs. The Exit Polls have predicted that it will be a Green storm again in the state, with Mamata Banerjee winning the majority again.
