Kolkata, February 7: Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani showered praise on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday, saying that the state has flourished under her leadership. Speaking at the Bengal Global Business Summit 2019, Ambani said that West Bengal was becoming Best Bengal under Mamata's leadership. He also highlighted how Bengal GDP's was growing by leaps and bounds under Mamata Banerjee.

"I had mentioned in my speech at this summit last year that under Mamata Banerjee's leadership, West Bengal is becoming ‘best’ Bengal, this is indeed coming true," Ambani said.

"The GDP of Bengal is growing at the fastest rate among the states in India," Ambani added while addressing the gathering. Ambani also announced plans to invest Rs 10,000 crore in West Bengal.

The two-day Bengal Global Business Summit 2019 on February 7 and February 8 is being attended by 4,000 business leaders from across 32 countries. On the first day of the summit, The West Bengal CM also received words of praise from other business leaders.

"Mamata Banerjee is passionate about development. She has enthused the whole State to bring in more investment, more industry. West Bengal can become a trillion dollar economy by 2032," said Sajjan Jindal, MD, JSW Group.
