It has been an JDU seat since 2010. JDU's Ashok Kumar won the seat in Bihar Assembly Elections 2020. Polling for the Warisnagar election took place in the third phase of Bihar Assembly Elections 2020 on November 7. The counting of votes took place on November 10.
