Mumbai, March 24: Wardha Lok Sabha seat is one of the 48 parliamentary constituencies in Maharashtra. Wardha Lok Sabha seat went to polls on April 11 in the first phase of general elections. Ramdas Chandrabhanji Tadas of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who is the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) from Wardha, was re-elected on Thursday.

Tadas defeated Congress's candidate Meghe Sagar Dattatraya in 2014 Lok Sabha polls. The Congress declared Charulata Rao Tokas as its candidate from Wardha seat. The process of filing nomination for Wardha Lok Sabha polls began from March 18. The last day for nominations was March 25. Of the 48 seats, the BJP-Shiv Sena combine bagged 41 in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. The Congress bagged two seats, while the NCP won four. Lok Sabha elections will take place in seven phases - on April 11, April 18, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19.
