The electorate has voted for the Telangana Assembly Elections 2018, and the counting of the votes will begin, later today, starting from 8 am. The Election Commission of India (ECI) will soon be announcing the results of the 2018 Telangana Assembly Elections, with the early trends coming out in few hours. In the 2014 Telangana Assembly Elections, Konda Surekha from TRS defeated Baswaraju Saraiah from Congress party. In 2009, it was the opposite. The same Congress’ candidate had defeated the same TRS’ candidate.
Aroori Ramesh of TRS won the Wardhannapet seat in Telangana Assembly Elections 2018, after defeating Kondeti Sridhar of the Congress party. However, it was Kondeti, who had won the seat in the 2009 elections.
Madhusudana Chary Sirikonda of TRS defeated Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy of Congress in a close-fought contest in Bhupalpalle, in the 2014 Assembly Elections. It will be interesting to see if Congress can win the seat as they had won it in during the 2009 Elections.
In the 2014 Assembly Elections 2014, Azmeera Chandulal of TRS won the Mulug seat after defeating Podem Veeraiah of the Congress party. In 2009, the seat was won by TDP after beating the same Congress’ candidate.
Payam Venkateswarlu of YSR Congress won the Pinapaka seat in the 2014 Assembly Elections against Shankar N of TRS. In 2009, it was Rega Katha Rao of Congress party who won the election with CPI losing it.
Koram Kanakaiah of the Indian National Congress (INC) defeated Banothu Haripriya of TDP, in the 2014 Assembly Elections. Yellandu has a strong history of Independent candidates winning the seat of Yellandu.
In the 2014 Assembly Election in Telangana, Ajay Kumar of Congress won the Khammam seat, after defeating second-placed Nageswar Rao. The seat, however, was held by Nageswar when he won it in the 2009 Elections.
