Video of Priyanka Gandhi's Reaction to Kids Abusing PM Narendra Modi Goes Viral, Smriti Irani Jabs Entire Nehru-Gandhi Family

New Delhi, May 1: A video from Congress' east UP general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's campaign trail went viral on social media in which a group of kids in Amethi are seen abusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Union Minister Smriti Irani, who is challenging Congress president Rahul Gandhi from the high-profile constituency, mounted a fresh offensive against the Nehru-Gandhi family over the controversial clip.

In the 11-second footage which Irani shared, the kids are seen using expletives for PM Modi. By the time the footage ends, the youngest Gandhi scion is seen putting her hands over her mouth to express shock over the abusive slogan. Priyanka Gandhi on Rahul Gandhi's Citizenship Row: 'Kya Bakwas Hai?'

Finding her reaction inadequate to the kind of language used by the minors against the Prime Minister Irani said, "Uncouth to the core. Imagine the filthiest of abuses that a Prime Minister has to endure from people whose only claim to fame is a nose. Lutyens outrage anyone?"

The incident has left Twitter in splits as another version of the video is also being shared, which shows Priyanka Gandhi mildly expressing her disapproval to the kids and asking them to behave properly.

The 28-second footage shows her asking the kids to desist from raising such slogans and behave like "acche bacche (good kids)".

In Amethi, a grand showdown was witnessed on Tuesday, as both Priyanka Gandhi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath campaigned in the constituency. However, their campaign trails did not intersect.

Amethi, being represented by Rahul Gandhi since 2004, along with his mother Sonia Gandhi's bastion of Rae Bareli, will be contested on May 6, in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019.
