Varanasi Lok Sabha Constituency in Uttar Pradesh Results 2019: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wins Parliamentary Election

Varanasi constituency is one of the eighty Lok Sabha constituencies in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The election here was conducted on May 19, 2019 as per the Phase 7 schedule.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi won from the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi defeated Samajwadi party candidate Shalini Yadav with a humongous margin of 4,79,505 votes. The counting of votes took place today, May 23. Voting took place for the  Varanasi seat in the seventh phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 19. A total voter turnout of 54.37 per cent was recorded in this phase of polling in UP, as per Election Commission of India.

Varanasi constituency is one of the eighty Lok Sabha constituencies in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi stood for the elections as a candidate from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The last general election in the year 2014 was won by the current Prime Minister Of India, Narendra Modi who bagged the total of 5,81,022 votes. The runner up of the election was Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) president Arvind Kejriwal with a total of 2,09,238 votes.
