Dehradun, July 9: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that owing to the heavy rain alert in the state, the holidays of all the officers stand cancelled. The chief minister has also said that all the officers have been asked to stay in their respective areas of posting so that response time can be reduced in case of an emergency.
News agency ANI reported the chief minister's statement that the holidays of all officers have been cancelled due to heavy rain alerts in parts of Uttarakhand:

Earlier, the Met Department had issued an alert saying that heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in the areas of Chamoli, Pauri and Rudraprayag districts of Garhwal division and also at isolated places in Kumaon division on July 10 and 11.
Heavy rainfall and flooding has been reported from various parts of the country. Maharashtra has been reeling under heavy rains as Nagpur continues to be flooded. Mangaluru in Karnataka also suffered as floods ravaged the city. Parts of Gujarat also continue to witness heavy flooding.
