Upendra Kushwaha Quits PM Narendra Modi's Cabinet, Says BJP Tried to Destroy RLSP.
The RLSP became part of the grand alliance in Bihar when it joined hands with the UPA last year. Dissent in Bihar NDA: 'Ignored by Amit Shah Twice, Last Option to Meet PM Modi', Says Upendra Kushwaha.
At the time of quitting the NDA, Kushwaha had said that the main reason for him leaving the NDA was "Prime Minister Narendra Modi's failure in fulfilling the promises made by him to the people of Bihar."
Kushwaha had also alleged that he was insulted within the NDA. “We had said that we have many options and UPA was one of them. The wholeheartedness shown by Rahul Gandhi and Lalu Yadav is one of the reasons I joined but the biggest reason I’m here is the people of Bihar,” ANI had quoted him as saying.
Kushwaha had announced his decision at the AICC headquarters in Delhi. Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel, AICC state in-charge Shaktisinh Gohil, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav and opposition leader Sharad Yadav were present when Kushwaha joined the UPA.
