New Delhi, July 29: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for not expelling Unnao Rape case accused legislator Kuldeep Singh Sengar, his brother Manoj Singh Sengar and eight of their associates. The following remarks arrived hours after Uttar Pradesh Police registered a first information report (FIR) against Senger and others.

Expressing her ire over the incident where a truck rammed into the vehicle in which Unnao rape case survivor, her lawyer and relatives were commuting, Gandhi took to Twitter and wrote, "What is the BJP waiting for? Why has this man not been expelled from their party even when his name is in the latest FIR in the Unnao Rape Case?" Singh had also appealed UP CM Yogi Adityanath to transfer the case to CBI. Meanwhile, the state government had directed the police department to conduct a thorough probe into the alleged conspiracy angle.

Investigating the alleged accident case, police have arrested truck's driver, cleaner and helper. Police also informed that all the accused are being rigorously interrogated. It is to be known that the victim with her two aunts and lawyer were going to Rae Bareli to visit Mahesh Singh on Sunday evening, who is currently lodged in jail. In the accident, victim's two aunts were killed, while the rape survivor and her lawyer are being treated for critical injuries at the King's George Medical University Hospital in Lucknow.
