Uma Bharti Says Right Time to Construct Ram Mandir in Ayodhya With Narendra Modi at Centre & Yogi Adityanath in UP

New Delhi, November 1: Union Minister Uma Bharti on Thursday said this is the right time to construct the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh, the time has come for the construction of the temple. The firebrand Hindutva leader was earlier quoted by India Today saying, "If they tell me Ram Mandir will be built only over my dead body, then so be it."

Earlier in the day, BJP Rajya Sabha MP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ideologue Rakesh Sinha said he will soon introduce a private member bill in Parliament for construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Sinha took to Twitter and asked the opposition leaders including Congress president Rahul Gandhi, BSP chief Mayawati, RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav and CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury to support his bill.

Earlier in July, Bharti who was on a visit to Ayodhya, said that she is among those who wanted an early resolution of the matter through the construction of a temple. The Minister had termed it a matter of ‘national pride’. She also took a dig at the opposition parties’ allegations that the BJP plays politics over Ayodhya dispute to polarise votes ahead of every election. Ayodhya Act 1993: When Congress Passed Law For Construction of Ram Mandir And BJP Opposed it.

Bharti had said that ‘Ram bhakti’ should not be linked with the winning and losing of elections and added saying that construction of a magnificent Ram temple is a matter of national pride for all the citizens of India.
