Mumbai, November 23: Amid ongoing political drama in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray held meeting with his party MLA’s at Mumbai’s Lalit Hotel. After the meeting, Thackeray exuded confidence in forming the government in Maharashtra in alliance with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, he said, “Though the situation has changed, but it will not affect the possibility of Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena alliance forming the government in the state.” Shiv Sena MLAs also assured Thackeray that would not switch side and would remain loyal to the party.

The reports are also surfacing that both Congress and Shiv Sena will shift their MLAs to Jaipur to thwart any poaching attempt. NCP chief Sharad Pawar is also holding a meeting with his MLAs to formulate a future strategy. According to reports, around 42 MLAs attended the meeting. Meanwhile, nine rebel NCP MLAs has flown to Delhi to meet senior BJP leaders.
Earlier in the Day, Devendra Fadnavis took oath as Maharashtra CM. Sharad Pawar’s nephew and NCP legislative leader Ajit Pawar extended support to the saffron party. He was also sworn-in as the Deputy CM of the state. The BJP is claiming that they have the support of most of the NCP MLAs and will form a stable government in the state. Yesterday, Sharad told reporters that Congress and the NCP were backing Thackeray as the CM.
