Mumbai, June 22: With the Assembly elections in Maharashtra stated to be held in few months and reports came out about the growing number of suicides amongst farmers, Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday opined that there is a huge scam in agrarian sector and the 'rightful money to poor farmers can't be seen anywhere'.

Addressing a gathering on Saturday, Thackeray said, as quoted by news agency ANI, "The scams in insurance are gradually coming to the fore. The rightful money to poor farmers can't be seen anywhere. Now when it is the time to help them in their losses, the insurance offices can't be seen anywhere. If needed Shiv Sena will bring down their shutters." Adding on, he said, "The first help center was started in Maharashtra today, we got farmers to fill up forms. We'll take all of that to the CM and if needed, we'll take farmers along with us. I don't want to blame anyone, schemes are good but don't reach the rightful person."

It is to be known that following the reports of over 12,000 farmers committing suicides in Maharashtra in last four years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met Union Ministers, economic experts and bureaucrats to revamp the agrarian policies in India.
