Mumbai, December 23: Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is likely to expand his Cabinet on Tuesday. Uddhav Thackeray was sworn in as Maharashtra CM on November 28 along with six ministers -- two each from Shiv Sena, NCP and the Congress. According to an Indian Express report,  there has been an agreement between the three major parties in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, that the deputy CM’s post will go to the NCP. Reportedly, Ajit Pawar is insisting that he should get the Home portfolio as well as the deputy CM’s post. But the NCP chief seems reluctant to hand over the responsibility of both the posts to him. Some of the ministers who have been allocated portfolios are-Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde who has been given the charge of the home, urban development and other departments, Subhash Desai has got a number of portfolios, including agriculture, industries, higher and technical education.

NCP leader Jayant Patil has been allocated finance and planning, housing and others, Chhagan Bhujbal was allocated with the portfolio of food, civil supplies and consumer protection, and minority welfare departments. Balasaheb Thorat was handed over revenue, energy, medical education, school education.
