Congress president Rahul Gandhi has finally changed his name or handle as referred to on micro-blogging site Twitter. The leader has changed his name from 'OfficeofRG' to plain 'RahulGandhi.' His account has been quite popular thanks to his open criticism for the Union Government. Along with the name he has also changed his display picture to a dimpled face of himself, smiling heartily in the picture. He has gained immense followers for the same and some of his tweets have even given rise to a lot of memes.
Rahul Gandhi joined Twitter in 2015, but over the last year, with his constant digs at the assembly polls, he attracted a lot of members siding with his party. He made some wise tweets and some just gave fodder to make jokes, but it only helped him get popular on the social media site.
Take a look at Rahul Gandhi's announcement of name change:
For those of you who missed it, my Twitter handle has changed from 9 am this morning to @RahulGandhi
The @OfficeOfRG account has been discontinued.
I look forward to your feedback and comments and to continuing my dialogue with you via Twitter and other platforms.

He has been very active on his Twitter account. There were reports in between about who handles the social media account for him. At that time Rahul had taken a dig at everyone tweeting a picture of his pet dog, giving him the credit of handling his Twitter.
Take a look at Rahul Gandhi's sarcastic tweet which had won hearts!
Ppl been asking who tweets for this guy..I'm coming clean..it's me..Pidi..I'm way 😎 than him. Look what I can do with a tweet..oops..treat! pic.twitter.com/fkQwye94a5

In just a matter of few hours of him posting this, it was liked and retweeted by so many people. We wonder if the new change in his handle and profile picture will give way for more sarcastic digs coming our way soon. Another interesting thing to note is Gandhi's updated Twitter look coincides with the Indian National Congress 84th Plenary Session in New Delhi. Will this new change increase more of Gandhi's fanbase? What do you think?
