Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated Shri Rikman G Momim, while the Indian National Congress has chosen Dr Mukul M Sangma to compete for General Election, 2019. During 16th Lok Sabha polls, Purna Agitok Sangma from National People's Party(NPP) and Daryl William Cheran Momin from Indian National Congress(INC) contested for Tura constituency. The NPP candidate won the seat by a majority of 39,716 votes. Total number of voters in the last general election were 4,58,071, out of which 19,185 voters opted for None of the above(NOTA).

The General Election 2019 will be held throughout India starting from April 11, 2019 and will last till May 19, 2019. Election will be held in 7 phases. The result for all the phases will be declared on May 23, 2019.
