Mumbai: Ranajagjitsinha Padmasinha Patil of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won the Tuljapur Vidhan Sabha in Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019. Patil defeated Chavan Madhukarrao Deorao of the Congress party.
The seat is located in Osmanabad district of the state, which falls in Marathwada zone. The assembly segment primarily features an electoral contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-Shiv Sena alliance and the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) combine. Polling in all the constituencies of in Maharashtra was held on October 21, 2019 along with assembly elections in Haryana. As per the results declared by the Election Commission, the seat was won by Congress leader Chavan Madhukarrao Deorao by a margin of 29610 votes.
Ahead of the elections, all major surveys had predicted the BJP-Sena coalition to hold the edge. The sum of major opinion polls have claimed a return of the incumbent ruling alliance in the forthcoming polls. Surveys have went to the extent of predicting 205-220 seats for the BJP-Sena alliance.
In both the states, the BJP is the incumbent ruling party. Devendra Fadnavis and Manohar Lal Khattar are likely to continue as the Chief Ministers of Maharashtra and Haryana, respectively.
