TRS Releases Manifesto For Telangana Assembly Elections 2018; Promises Rs 1 Lakh Farm Loan Waiver, Rs 3,016 Stipend For Unemployed Youth
In a bid to placate the agitating farmers in the state, KCR promised a farm loan waiver upto Rs 1 lakh. The Congress-TDP alliance and the BJP have promised to waive off loans upto Rs 2 lakh if elected to power.
Hyderabad, December 2: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday released the party's manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections in the state. Rao, who is the caretaker Chief Minister, said "unlike the Congress and TDP", none of the promises being made by the TRS are unrealistic.

The Telangana CM also assured to increase the retirement age of government employees if re-elected to power. At present, the employees have to retire at 58. KCR, as the Chief Minister is popularly called, said one of the first decision of the new government would be to increase the retirement age to 61.
For the unemployed youth, a monthly stipend of Rs 3,016 would be sanctioned, KCR announced while releasing the manifesto.
The TRS supremo also assured to increase the base amount of two of his flagship schemes -- Aasara pensions and Rytha Bandhu investment schemes. In the latter, support amount would be increased from Rs 8,000 acre to Rs 10,000 per acre. Meanwhile, the quantum of pension per beneficiary would be surged by Rs 1,000 per month.
The TRS manifesto contends on not being able to fulfill the 2014 poll promise of providing two lakh houses to beneficiaries among the economically weaker sections of the society. The scheme has been amended by KCR, with a promise to provide Rs 5-6 lakh to the poor to construct houses on plots owned by them.
On 12 per cent reservation to Muslims -- another promise which KCR has failed to fulfill -- the TRS manifesto says the government will continue to raise the issue with the Centre. In his poll rallies, KCR has reiterated that quota to Muslims could not be granted due to the proposal being turned down by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
