Kolkata, April 28: The Trinamool Congress on Sunday wrote to the Election Commission, complaining against noted wrestler 'The Great Khali' campaigning for Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate from Jadavpur, Anupam Hazra. The TMC has appealed the polling body to take immediate action, pointing out that Khali is a foreign citizen though born in India.

The Trinamool candidate from Jadavpur is actress Mimi Chakraborty, whereas, the CPI(M) has fielded Bikash Bhattacharya.

Khali, whose real name is Dalip Singh Rana, is a noted professional wrestler who had worked for the Word Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
Days earlier, the TMC was ensued in a similar controversy after Bangladeshi actor Ferdous Ahmed campaigned for the party in West Bengal's Raiganj constituency.
The campaign drew a sharp reaction from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), which ordered the immediate revocation of visa and ordered a leave notice to Ferdous.
