Kolkata, February 10: West Bengal Police on Sunday arrested two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters in connection with the murder of Krishnaganj’s Trinamool Congress (TMC) legislator Satyajit Biswas. Meanwhile, BJP’s national executive committee member and Lok Sabha election management committee in-charge for Bengal, Mukul Roy has also been named in the FIR which was lodged at Hanskhali police station. Satyajit Biswas, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA, Shot Dead in Nadia District of West Bengal.

After being named in the FIR, Roy demanded a probe by an independent agency. He said, “In the entire state of West Bengal, when anybody is killed by their own people or by other miscreants, TMC and government try to implicate it that it is by leaders and workers of BJP. I demand a probe by an independent agency.” Roy further added that Mamata Banerjee was scared of us. The TMC legislature was shot dead by unidentified assailants inside a Saraswati puja tent on Saturday evening in West Bengal's Nadia district. The ruling TMC accused the BJP of killing Biswas. Meanwhile, BJP state president Dilip Ghosh refuted the charges and claimed that the killing might be the result of infighting in the ruling party. Biswas was also in-charge of the party’s organisation for the Dalit refugee Matua community.
