'Titanic' Monsoon Joke by Maharashtra MLA Nitish Rane Mocking Shiv Sena-Run-BMC For Pothole Ridden Roads Goes Viral
The roads of Mumbai turns into potholes ridden roads especially during monsoons.
Mumbai, June 1: With just a few days left for the monsoon to hit the island city of Mumbai, opposition parties have already started to mock the Shiv Sena-led Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for lack of preparedness. Every year during monsoon, the BMC drew a lot of flak for civic negligence. The roads of Mumbai turn into pothole ridden roads, especially during monsoons, which invites several fatalities. The roads gets flooded with heavy downpours. Therefore, to throw light on civic apathy, unable to resolve civic problems and to mock Mumbai's pothole-ridden roads, MLA Nitish Rane has slammed the Shiv Sena-run Mumbai civic body.
Nitish on his official Twitter account has posted a picture reminiscent of the famous Hollywood film Titanic. In the tragic climax of the movie, actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are stranded in the freezing sea atop a wooden board after the Titanic ship sinks into the sea. Rane in the picture posted here has tried to depict the same moment but rather in a hilarious way.
He posted a photoshopped image of the scene from Titanic where DiCaprio is seen holding the hand of Winslet, but instead of the freezing sea, he is inside a pothole. The picture was posted to attack the Sena for the civic apathy, but in real terms, it also highlights the prevailing lousy condition of Mumbai roads. Even after spending crores of the taxpayer's money, the condition of the roads have remained unchanged over the years. Nitish in his tweet has also called Ajoy Mehta, the civic commissioner as the director of this newly conceptualised pothole-- Titanic film and Mumbai Mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar as the assistant director.
Politician Rane whose entire family actively participates in Maharashtra state politics always finds reasons to attack the Sena. It is believed that all the three politicians ---Narayan Ranes (former minister) and his two sons, Nitish (MLA) and Nilesh Rane (former Congress MP) have old grudges with the Sena. Narayan Rane, before joining Congress was in Shiv Sena, but he left due to party rift. Hence from then, Rane's entire family leaves no stone unturned to slam the Shiv Sainiks.
