Mumbai, September 27: The Tirora Vidhan Sabha seat is one of 288 seats of Maharashtra assembly which will go to polls on October 21. In Tirora assembly constituency, the electoral contest is between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). The BJP has formed an alliance with the Shiv Sena, while the NCP will receive support from the Congress. The BJP bagged the Tirora seat in 2009 and 2014. The sitting MLA from the constituency is BJP's Rahangdale Vijay Bharatlal has been re-elected defeating NCP's Bopche Ravikant alias Guddu Khushal. Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019: Congress-NCP to Contest on 125 Seats Each.

The Election Commission (EC) announced the schedule of Maharashtra assembly elections on September 21. As per the schedule, the last date for filing nominations is October 4. The scrutiny of nominations will be done on October 5. Candidates can withdraw their nominations by October 7. Polling will be held on October 21, while the counting of votes will take place on October 24. The results will be declared on October 24. Nearly 9 crore people are eligible to vote in this election. The poll panel has made 90,403 polling stations. In 2014, the BJP emerged as the single largest party in Maharashtra winning 122 seats. The Shiv Sena, which contested alone, came second bagging 63 seats. The Congress and the NCP got 42 and 41 seats respectively. Bahujan Vikash Aghadi and the PWP won three seats each, while the AIMIM secured two seats.
