The results of the Thrissur Lok Sabha Constituency have been declared. Congress candidate TN Prathapan won Thrissur constituency with 4,15,089 votes. Prathapan won over a margin of 93,633 votes. Other candidates who were in the fray included Communist Party Of India (CPI) candidate Rajaji Mathew Thomas, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Nikhil Chandrasekharan and actor Suresh Gopi who was fielded by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Voting took place for the Thrissur Constituency during the third phase of polling on April 23. Thrissur which was previously known as Trichur is the third largest city in Kerala. Located in central Kerala, it is a revenue district also known as the 'Cultural Capital of Kerala'. Thrissur is one among the 20 Lok Sabha constituencies in Kerala. Thrissur's constituency number is 10. Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency comprises of seven assembly segments including Guruvayoor, Manalur, Ollur, Thrissur, Nattika (SC), Irinjalakuda and Puthukkad.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), alliance led by BJP, has allotted the seat to the Bharath Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) which claims to have the support of the backward Hindu Ezhavas. CPI has picked its 65-year-old legislator Rajaji Mathew Thomas to be their face in Thrissur. He had won the Ollur Assembly seat in 2006. CN Jayadevan who is the sitting MP had defeated Congress' KP Dhanapalan by 38,227 votes in 2014. The Congress and the Communist Party of India (CPI) have won this seat during different elections since 1999. While the Congress enjoyed prominence in 1999 and 2009, and the communist party came to power in 2004 and 2014. CPI's CN Jayadevan had won with a majority in 2014. The Left Front received 42.3% of the vote while the Congress took 38.1% and the National Democratic Alliance 11.2% in 2014.

The Lok Sabha elections 2019 was held between April 11 and May 19 across the country in seven phases. Voting was held in Kerala during the third phase on April 23 in a single phase. During the third phase, the polling was held in 115 Lok Sabha constituencies of 14 states. The counting of votes was held on May 23 following which the results were declared.
