Results for the Theni Lok Sabha Constituency in Tamil Nadu has been declared by the Election Commission of India (ECI). P Raveendranath Kumar of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has won the seat. The counting of votes for the Theni  Lok Sabha Constituency began at 8 AM on Thursday, May 23. This is one of the 39 Parliamentary constituencies in Tamil Nadu which went to poll on April 18. The constituency number of Theni is 33 and is not reserved for any category, which means it falls in general category. According to Election Commission of India 2009 data, the total number of in the Theni constituency were 1,074,931. Out of the total voters, 538,300 are females and 536,631 are males. This parliamentary constituencies has six Vidhan Sabha segments, four belong to the Theni District and the rest two belong to the Madurai District. For the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister and AIADMK Coordinator O Panneerselvam’s son, P Raveendranath Kumar has ben given the ticket. He will make his electoral debut as the party’s candidate from the Theni parliamentary constituency. Meanwhile, the Congress has given its ticket to E.V.K.S. All the 39 constituency seats of Tamil Nadu will got to poll on April 18. Lok Sabha Elections 2019 will take place across the country between April 11 and May 23 in seven phases. The election results will be announced on May 23.

In the last assembly elections which were held in 2014, Parthipan R of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) won the Lok Sabha election defeating Pon. Muthuramalingam of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). Parthipan had won the seat with 571,254 votes.
