Hyderabad, November 30: Ahead of the polls in the state, cricketer-turned-politician Mohammad Azharuddin was on Friday appointed as the working president of Telangana Congress. The party issued a statement confirming the same. According to a tweet by the Congress, along with Azharuddin, Dr BM Vinod Kumar and Jaffer Javed were appointed as vice presidents of Telangana Congress Committee. The press communique released by Congress party said, “Hon’ble Congress President Shri Rahul Gandhi has approved the appointment of following persons as office bearers of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee.”

Voting for Telangana Assembly Elections 2018 will be held on December 7 while The counting of votes will be held on December 11. It must be noted that the polling will be held in a single-phase.The cricketer-turned-politician entered politics in 2009 and was elected as MP from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. In 2014, he lost the Lok Sabha polls from Tonk-Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan.
