New Delhi, November 15: Former Hyderabad Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy on Tuesday sat on a dharna outside Congress President Rahul Gandhi's residence in the national capital. According to a tweet by ANI, the leader resorted to dharna after being disappointed after she was being denied a ticket for the upcoming polls in Telangana. Polling in the state will be held on December 7, while the results will be announced on December 11.

In Telangana, the 119-member assembly was dissolved on September 6, 2018, on the recommendation of the ruling K Chandrasekhar Rao-led TRS government. 

On Wednesday, a similar incident was reported from Telangana where a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supporter climbed an electric pole demanding a ticket for the polls in the state. The supporter, Deepak Reddy, climbed an electric pole in front of TDP office in Jubilee Hills earlier demanding a ticket from Khairatabad constituency. Earlier this month, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader Narayana Reddy was stoned to death in Vikarabad district of the state and his body was found the next day. Following the incident, two Congress workers were beaten up by the leader's supporters.
