Telangana Assembly Elections 2018: Asaduddin Owaisi Says Congress Offered Him 'Rs 25 Lakh Bribe' to Cancel Poll Rally

In a shocking revelation, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday alleged that the Congress party offered him Rs 25 lakh to cancel one of his public meetings in Nirmal Assembly segment in Adilabad district of Telangana.

Hyderabad, November 20: In a shocking revelation, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday alleged that the Congress party offered him Rs 25 lakh to cancel one of his public meetings in Nirmal Assembly segment in Adilabad district of Telangana. While addressing a rally at Milad Gound Jalal Bagh Sangareddy constituency in Medak district, Owaisi said that a local candidate of Nirmal Assembly constituency Maheshwar Reddy offered him a bribe for not campaigning for the Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS) candidate. Telangana Assembly Elections 2018: BJP Not in Picture, Fight Between Us, Say TRS and Congress

During the rally, the AIMIM chief also hit out at Congress-Telugu Desam Party Alliance and asked the voters not to vote for them. The AIMIM is contesting elections in friendly alliance with the TRS. Apart from seven constituency seats in Hyderabad, Owaisi will campaign for the TRS in Muslim dominated areas. Just days after Telangana Assembly was dissolved, Owaisi’s party released the list of seven candidates for the upcoming assembly elections.

The state is undergoing election on December along with Rajasthan. The result will be declared on December 11. According to data released by the Chief Electoral officer's office, the total number of voters in Telangana have gone down by nearly nine lakh to 2.73 crore for the Assembly polls. The polling body will scrutinise nomination papers on November 22.
