Hyderabad, December 2: Hitting out at Bharatiya Janata Party-led Union government, All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday said that Narendra Modi’s party would be defeated in the Assembly elections in Telangana, as the ''Allah is with them''.

Addressing an electoral rally in Maqta, Khairatabad, Owaisi stated that all not only Narendra Modi’s party but even Rahul Gandhi’s Congress will be defeated in the polls. He said, “The Allah will defeat Narendra Modi, Allah will defeat Rahul Gandhi and others as he is with us.” PM Narendra Modi Takes Dig at Akbaruddin Owaisi Over 'CM Has to Bow Before Us' Comment

Appealing the Muslim youth to have faith in Allah and believe in their abilities, Owaisi stated that the state of Telangana is the safest place for Muslims in India.

Accusing the BJP and Congress of playing with the sentiments of the Muslims in the country, the AIMIM chief said that it’s high time to ensure peace in the region. He said, “Telangana has become an island of peace for minorities, non-believers, Dalits and other oppressed groups. We need to ensure that this atmosphere of peace is not temporary any more.”

He was of the opinion that even if BJP and Congress contest together, they would not be able to win the elections. Owaisi in his speech also attacked newly-announced Congress-Telegu Desam Party (TDP) alliance in Telangana.

Earlier too, he had made a sharp attack at the Congress-Telegu Desam Party (TDP) alliance while addressing a public meeting at Milad Gound Jalal Bagh Sangareddy constituency in Medak district. He had said, “This is not 'Mahakutumbi' (the alliance of Congress-TDP and others), this is 2018’s East India Company.”

Stating the reasons for forming a separate state, the Hyderabad lawmaker said, “I’ll tell you why Telangana was formed. Now, will decisions regarding Telangana be made by Naidu who sits in Vijayawada? Or by Nagpur-based RSS? By Congress in Delhi?”

Recently, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu joined hands with Congress for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019. Naidu is also in talks with leaders of the non-BJP parties.

The Assembly elections in Telangana for 119 seats will take place on December 7, and the results will be declared on December 11, along with the fate of four other states.
