Gurugram, February 2: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday opened war on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the PM is forgetting if he is ‘chowkidaar’ (watchman), then people of the country are ‘Thanedaar’ (Police). While addressing a rally in Haryana's Gurugram, Yadav launched an attack on the BJP government and said, people who speak the truth are being punished. "When you ask questions, then people in power instead of answering your questions spread venom in society. Talking about the Ram Mandir issue, Yadav said Lord Ram, in the heaven above, is being remembered so much these days as election are nearing. "Bhagwan Ram aur Sita maiya swarg mein, Bhagwan Ram ko hichki aati hai. Sita maiya poochti hai kyu hichki aarahi hai, Ram ji kehte hain chunaav saamne aagaya hai, BJP yaad kar rahi hai", Yadav said. On January 19, Yadav while addressing a rally in Kolkata, took a jibe at the Prime Minister and his party and said the PM was the "factory, manufacturer, whole-seller, and distributor" of lies. He referred to PM Modi as the 'chowkidar' and said, "Chowkidar may think he is the chowkidar but the public is the thanedar."

Earlier this month, the RJD leader had alleged that BJP as part of conspiracy has set CBI and ED against his father Lalu Prasad and his family for not joining hands with them in their efforts to divide the country on communal lines.
