Patna, April 26: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for attending post-wedding reception of Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra. Addressing a public meeting at Bihar's Samastipur, Tejashwi Yadav said that PM Narendra Modi had time to attend Priyanka Chopra's reception but he didn't visit a poor's house. He also endorsed Congress President Rahul Gandhi for the post of Prime Minister.
"Please make Rahul Ji Prime Minister as not only does he talk about the poor, he also doesn't have any problem meeting them, unlike our Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has time to attend Priyanka Chopra's reception but can't visit a poor man's home," the former deputy chief minister said, finally sharing stage with Rahul Gandhi. He had skipped several rallies of the Congress president over the past few weeks. Tejashwi Yadav Calls PM Modi ‘Fake OBC’, BJP Hits Back.
Tejashwi made a strong pitch for "NYAY" and thanked Rahul Gandhi for the scheme, adding that many people from Bihar would get benefits under the proposed plan. "There is a difference between what PM Modi says and does, but Rahul Ji always does what he says and without losing much time. Like the way he promised loan waivers and see how it was waived in those three states," he said. Rahul Gandhi Takes Poetic Dig At PM Narendra Modi's 'Non-Political' Interview With Akshay Kumar.
The Congress chief said the highest number of beneficiaries of his proposed NYAY scheme, which promises Rs 72,000 a year for India's poorest, would be from Bihar, reported NDTV. He promised that the middle class would not be taxed to finance the scheme. In the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019 on April 29, five seats in Bihar will go to polls. The results will be declared on May 23.
