Tej Pratap Yadav Says His Battle For Divorce Bigger Than Mahabharata
The RJD leader has said that there is no turning back as he has made up his mind regarding the divorce. He also put to rest all rumours of a rift between him and brother Tejashwi Yadav, whom he wants to see as the next CM of Bihar.
Patna, January 1: Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, has said that he is firm on his decision to get divorced from his estranged wife Aishwarya Rai. Tej Pratap, who is known for using mythological metaphors, said that "my divorce battle is bigger than that of Mahabharat", trying to indicate how difficult it is for him to get divorced after he met his mother Rabri Devi. Tej Pratap has been in news ever since he filed for divorce in a Patna court. Tej Pratap had got married on May 12, 2018 in one of the biggest political weddings in Bihar. His father and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is lodged in jail, was seen with the family at the event.
Even Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, who had broken ties with the RJD and the Mahagathbandhan, had attended Tej Pratap's marriage and Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar were seen on the same stage after a long time.
However, things went downhill in Tej Pratap's life and marriage and he filed for divorce in November, 2018. Ever since, there have been reports of Tej Pratap leaving his house and promising only to return after he finds support from his family members for getting the divorce.
There have also been reports of rift between Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav, the sons of Lalu Prasad Yadav, regarding the leadership of the party as younger son Tejashwi is the heir apparent. However, Tej Pratap rubbished such reports and said that he wants to see Tejashwi as the next chief minister of Bihar.
