Patna, July 5: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav,  son of Lalu Prasad Yadav today quashed all the rumours of a rift within the family. During the rally of the foundation day of the party in Patna, Tej Pratap also felicitated his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav with a crown. Speaking at the event, Tej Pratap said that some people were trying to create a divide in the party.

Tej Pratap also said that he would bring Tejashwi  to the forefront of the RJD and let political rivals envy their progress. Tejashwi also took a dig at the BJP-JDU alliance. The younger son of Lalu said that some people were trying to create a narrative here that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would not be defeated till Janata Dal United (JDU) comes back in Mahagatbandhan.

Taking a jibe at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi said that the BJP might dump Kumar. Tejashwi further added that after dumping JDU there might be a possibility that Lok Sabha and assembly elections could be held simultaneously.

On Wednesday, controversy cropped up after omission of Tej Pratap's name from a list of dignitaries who would be attending the party's 22nd foundation day celebrations. The posters of the foundation day put up at party headquarters carry an image of Tej Pratap's wife, Aishwarya Rai. There are also speculations that Aishwarya would enter politics. Earlier BJP state vice president Devesh Kumar told PTI that there was trouble growing within the Lalu family.
