New Delhi, December 18: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Member of Parliament (MP) Naramalli Sivaprasad has once again grabbed media headlines for his unique style of protest outside the parliament during the winter session. Sivaprasad held a unique costume protest demanding special status for Andhra Pradesh. On Tuesday, he turned up as a folk singer in the parliament. He has earlier dressed up as a magician, a woman, a washerman and a school student among others.

During the monsoon session in August, the TDP MP dressed as Adolf Hitler and Lord Ram as a protest over the issue. He had also dressed up as the Sathya Sai and Narad Muni avatar for protesting over the same issue. On March 23, he held ‘tantrik protest’ expressing his disappointment with budget proposals. He had protested outside by becoming a ‘tantrik’ or magician.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been demanding special status for Andhra Pradesh for a long time. In March, the TDP pulled out of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) over the issue. The TDP was the first party to leave the coalition since NDA came to power at the Centre in 2014.

Meanwhile, AIADMK MPs also protested in Parliament premises against Karnataka preparing a report for the proposed construction of a reservoir-cum-drinking water project at Mekedatu across the Cauvery river. Tamil Nadu CM had also written to PM Narendra Modi seeking revocation of Centre's permission to Karnataka.
