TDP Compares PM Modi to ‘Anaconda’ Who Is Swallowing National Institutions; BJP Calls Chandrababu Naidu ‘King of Corruption’
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Saturday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and compared him to "Anaconda" who has been "swallowing" national institutions.
Chennai, November 4: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Saturday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and compared him to "Anaconda" who has been "swallowing" national institutions. Taking a dig at PM Modi over the recent turmoil in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said, "Who can be a bigger Anaconda than Narendra Modi? He himself is the Anaconda that has swallowed all the institutions. He is swallowing up institutions like CBI, RBI etc,"
The Andhra Pradesh minister's criticism has come three days after the TDP formed an alliance with the Congress ahead of Telangana assembly elections. Reacting to Ramakrishnudu's remark, the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) slammed the TDP chief and described him as the "king of Corruptions". TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu Meets Rahul Gandhi To 'Save Democracy', Grand Alliance Talks Gains Momentum.
State BJP president Kanna Lakshminarayana said, "N Chandrababu Naidu is the king of corruption and will stoop to any level. The man who passed a resolution in the NDA meeting in 2017, that Modi should become prime minister again is now trying to portray the latter as a culprit. All corrupt leaders have formed a group and Chandrababu hastily ran into it. But it will not be possible if they try to loot the country in the garb of politics."
However, Ramakrishnudu said that TDP's main duty is to save the country from the BJP. "Every Tom, Dick and Harry is speaking of past politics. Past can't be present or future. But present and future will become past. The critics of TDP should understand this. TDP was not established against any single party. It was founded against the system," he further added.
On November 1, Andhra Pradesh CM met Congress President Rahul Gandhi at his resident in New Delhi to discuss the upcoming assembly polls in Telangana this year. Gandhi after his meeting with Naidu said both of us have planned 'not to get into the past' but talk about the present and future of the country as it is very 'critical'.
