New Delhi, August 6: The last rites of Sushma Swaraj will be performed at Lodhi Road electric crematorium thereafter today, said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) working president JP Nadda. Sushma Swaraj, India's former external affairs minister, died at All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi late on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack. The mortal remains of Swaraj have been kept at her residence in the national capital.

"Sushma Ji is no more with us, it is a sad incident for not only BJP but the whole country. She inspired us, her last tweet tells us how she was involved in serving the nation in an emotional way," Nadda told reporters. "Her mortal remains will be kept at her residence for people to pay last respects. "An excellent administrator, Sushma Ji set high standards in every Ministry she handled. She played a key role in bettering India's ties with various nations. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia were among those who condoled her death.
