New Delhi, August 7: Sushma Swaraj was cremated on Wednesday with full state honours. The former Minister of External Affairs (MEA) and one of Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) senior-most leaders died on Tuesday evening after she suffered a heart-attack. Among many dignitaries present during the cremation and a flood of tweets paying homage to the departed leader, one image that stood out was the one which featured Sushma Swaraj’s daughter Bansari and husband Swaraj Kaushal. The loss of former union minister, who was hugely popular on Twitter, was mourned on Twitter and other social media platforms with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the tributes. “A glorious chapter in Indian politics comes to an end. India grieves the demise of a remarkable leader who devoted her life to public service and bettering lives of the poor. Sushma Swaraj Ji was one of her kind, who was a source of inspiration for crores of people,” PM Modi tweeted.
