New Delhi, August 6: After the reports of Former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's death surfaced on Tuesday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Tejinder Bagga tweeted that she was fine. However, later, it was announced that Sushma Swaraj was no more. She breathed her last at AIIMS in New Delhi on Tuesday night. She was 67 years of age.
"Sushma ji is fine. Pls don't spread rumours," BJP leader Tajinder Singh Bagga had tweeted after reports of her death spread online. Sushma Swaraj was a veteran leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Swaraj didn't contest the 2019 Lok Sabha election due to her declining health condition.
Varun Jhaveri, an officer on Special Duty to CEO, Ayushman Bharat, wrote on Twitter: "Getting to hear the most tragic news! Sushma Swaraj passes away. Extremely shocked." Jhaveri, who has a verified Twitter account later deleted his tweet.

According to reports, Swaraj was admitted at AIIMS in Delhi. Born on February 14, 1953, she was a former Supreme Court lawyer. She served as the Minister of External Affairs from May 26, 2014, to May 30 2019.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Swaraj won from Vidisha constituency in Madhya Pradesh for the second term. She didn't contest the 2019 Lok Sabha polls citing health reasons.
