Surgical Strike Videos: BSP Chief Mayawati Launches Attack On PM Narendra Modi, Calls Move to Release Footage 'Politically Driven'
The former UP chief minister also accused the BJP of carrying a misinformation campaign.
Uttar Pradesh, June 29: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Friday slammed the Narendra Modi government after media channels released videos of the surgical strike after two years. Earlier this week, various news channels released surgical strike videos. Reacting to videos, Mayawati, said, “Releasing videos of surgical strikes is nothing but an attempt by this government to distract people from its enormous failures before 2019. If they did it with the intention of showing proof, why did they not release the video when the strike was carried out?”
In her statement, Mayawati said that PM Modi was trying to exploit the Army’s valour for electoral gains. She also questioned the timing of the release of purported video clips from the September 2016 surgical strikes.
Besides this, Mayawati also remarked, “People of this country are not idiots. They are well aware of the political game the BJP is playing."
The former UP chief minister also accused the BJP of carrying out a misinformation campaign. The BSP chief stated, “We admire our soldiers for conducting surgical strikes and for killing terrorists. Nobody has ever doubted this surgical strike nor sought any proof from PM Modi and his government. The BJP government is releasing this video and making it a political issue."
