Kolkata, May 18: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Saturday approached the Election Commission seeking to bar Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukul Roy from entering Lok Sabha constituencies in West Bengal that are going to polls tomorrow in the final phase of general elections. Arguing that Mukul Roy is a resident of Delhi, the TMC said his entry should be restricted in Lok Sabha constituencies during 48-hour 'silence period'.

"He (Mukul Roy) is a voter of Delhi and lawfully not entitled to stay in any constituency in Bengal going to polls on commencement of 48 hour restriction period," the TMC wrote to the Election Commission. Former TMC leader, Roy joined the BJP in November last year. His induction into BJP was aimed at strengthening the party’s political presence in West Bengal where it is still to emerge as a significant force. Vehicles Belonging Mukul Roy, BJP Candidate Vandalised in Nagerbazar.
