Kolkata, April 26: Communist Party of India – Marxist (CPIM) general secretary Sitaram Yechury on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah during an election rally in West Bengal, calling them the “Duryodhana and Dushasana” of modern times. He also questioned that how can those accused in Narada and Saradha scams can stay safe in Delhi. The voting in West Bengal is taking place in seven phases from April 11 to May 19. The counting of votes will take place on May 23. In the Lok Sabha Elections 2014, the Trinamool Congress had bagged 34 out of the 42 Parliamentary seats in the state.
Meanwhile, on April 23, Yechury had taken a dig at mahagathbandhan in Bihar. He had said, “It is very regrettable that we have not found a place in ''mahagathbandhan''. The left and the RJD have a very old relationship, both have fought together for secularism.” He had further added that “At Begusarai we are contesting on our own while at rest of places we are supporting ''mahagathbandhan'' because we have to defeat the BJP.”
