Sikar is one of the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies of Rajasthan. The voting for the parliamentary polls 2019 on this seat will take place in the Fifth phase on May 6. Currently, it comprises eight assembly seats  - Lachhmangarh, Dhod, Sikar, Danta Ramgarh, Khandela, Neem-Ka-Thana, Sri Madhopur and Chomu. Till now, no political party has announced its candidate for Churu seat. The last date of filing nominations for the seat is April 18. The scrutiny of nominations papers will take place on April `20. In 2014 elections also, BJP candidate Swami Sumedhanand Saraswati had won from Sikar Lok Sabha Constituency defeating Congress candidate Pratap Singh Jat with a margin of close to three lakh votes. In 2009 elections, Mahadeo Singh Khandela had won the seat on the Congress ticket.

The Election Commission of India on March 10 announced the dates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The general elections will take place in seven phases between April 11 and May 19, and the results will be declared on May 23. Along with Lok Sabha Elections, voting will also take place in this phase for Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Odisha Assembly Elections 2019.
