Signature Bridge Accidents: Arvind Kejriwal Terms Bridge as Delhi's Pride, Calls For Caution From Youth

Two accidents have taken place on the Signature bridge in the past two days, resulting in the death of three people.

New Delhi, November 24: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, troubled by the news of recent accidents on the newly inaugurated Signature bridge, has tweeted his word of advice for youngsters. Two accidents have taken place on the Signature bridge in the past two days, resulting in the death of three people. The Delhi Chief Minister said in his tweet that "I am very concerned with the crashing of the signature bridge. Signature Bridge is Delhi's pride. I appeal to all the people, especially the youth, to be careful when taking a selfie on the signature bridge, and don't play the vehicle at a faster pace. Precious to your life and your family."

On Saturday, Delhi's Signature Bridge witnessed its second accident in two days as a 24-year-old man was killed today morning after the bike skidded on the bridge, said media reports. The man was accompanied by his cousin at the time of accident. On Friday, two medical students were killed after their bike crashed into the divider on the bridge. The Hindustan Times in its report said that the deceased, Shankar, is a resident of Ghaziabad. He was riding the bike and his cousin Deepak, who lives in Shalimar Bagh, was on the pillion. Both the relatives were riding from Nangloi to north-east district. The accident took place at around 8.20 am on the Signature bridge, said the police. Both of them were admitted to a hospital after the accident, but Shankar could not be saved and was declared dead.
