Results of all 35 seats of Shimogga City Municipal Corporation have been declared. The BJP has won 20 seats, while the Congress bagged seven seats. Meanwhile, the JDS has managed to won only two seats. Independent candidates have won six seats.
The BJP has won 11 out of 35 seats in Shimogga CMC, while the Congress bagged three seats. Te JDS and I=independent candidat has won one seat each. till now, results on 16 seats have been declared out of 35.

Ahead of Lok Sabha elections 2019, all the three parties in Karnataka, the Congress, the BJP and the JD(S) are looking at winning the maximum number of seats in urban local body polls to boost the morale of party cadres. The JD(S) and the Congress, which are alliance partners in the coalition government, went alone in these elections.
Polling was conducted in 2,529 wards spread over 29 city municipalities, 53 town municipalities and 23 town panchayats and in 135 wards of three city corporations. Along with Shivamogga City Corporation, Mysore City Corportaion and Tumkur City Corportaion also went to polls.
