Mumbai, May 14: The fourth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 concluded on Monday, May 13. The May 13 polling marked the conclusion of the first four phases of General Elections in Maharashtra. Maharashtra, which has 48 Lok Sabha seats so far, witnessed polling in 35 parliamentary constituencies in the first four phases. The fifth phase of the Lok Sabha polls in Maharashtra will go to polls on Monday, May 20, on the remaining 13 Lok Sabha seats.

The Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra will witness a direct battle between the BJP-led NDA alliance and the INDIA Bloc. The Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena is fighting the Lok Sabha polls on the "Bow and Arrow" while the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, called Shiv Sebna UBT, is contesting the polls on the "Flaming Torch" symbol. The Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena candidates termed the original Shiv Sena is an ally of the Ajit Pawar-led NCP and the BJP. They will contest the Lok Sabha polls under the "Bow and Arrow" symbol. Similarly, the candidates of Shiv Sena-Uddhav Balasaheh Thackeray, part of the INDIA bloc, are contesting under the "Flaming Torch" symbol.

Parliamentary Seats Going to Poll on May 20

Maharashtra's 13 Lok Sabha seats will go to polls on May 20. Who Is Contesting Under "Bow and Arrow" and "Flaming Torch" Symbols?

According to the agreement, three political parties of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) Bloc agreed on a seat-sharing plan for the 48 Lok Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra. They will be fighting the Lok Sabha polls under the state's Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance. The Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) is fighting the Lok Sabha polls on 21 seats, Congress on 17 seats, and the Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party is contesting on 10 seats in Maharashtra. On the other hand, the BJP is contesting 28 seats while the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena is fighting on 15 seats. The Ajit Pawar-led NCP is fighting for four seats.

Shiv Sena UBT is contesting 21 seats in Maharashtra, including Yavatmal-Vashim, Maval, Sangli, Hingoli, Sambhajinagar, Dharashiv, Shirdi, Nashik, Raigad, Sindhudurg-Ratnagiri, Thane, Mumbai North-East, Mumbai-South, Mumbai South-Central, Mumbai North-West, and Parbhani. The Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena is contesting 15 Lok Sabha seats and is in direct fight with Shiv Sena-UBT on 13 Lok Sabha seats.
