Shashi Tharoor Slams BJP For 'Telling Him To Go To Pakistan', Asks 'Have They Started Taliban In Hinduism?'
According to a tweet by ANI, Tharoor said the ruling government is asking him to go to Pakistan and questioned who has given them the right to do so. While speaking at a party event in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, Tharoor said the BJP is none to ask him to go to Pakistan.
Thiruvananthapuram, July 18: Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday took a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and asked if it is trying to instill aspects of Taliban in Hinduism in India. According to a tweet by ANI, Tharoor said the ruling government is asking him to go to Pakistan and questioned who has given them the right to do so. While speaking at a party event in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, Tharoor said the BJP is none to ask him to go to Pakistan.
“They are asking me to go to Pakistan. Who has given them the right to decide that I am not a Hindu like them and I don't have the right to stay in the country? Have they started a Taliban in Hinduism?”, Tharoor questioned. The Congress MP said that BJP's discourse on 'Hindu Rashtra' is very dangerous. "It will destroy the country," he added.
On Tuesday, Tharoor slammed the BJP for the attack on his office over his remark that "Hindu Pakistan" would be created if the ruling party returns to power in 2019. According to a report by IANS, the Yuva Morcha activists on Monday shouted anti-Tharoor slogans and barged into his office and put up a banner that read "Hindu Pakistan" office. They also smeared black oil on his constituency office. Tharoor, however, was not present in the office when the incident happened.
Tharoor slammed the ruling government by saying that the BJP is answering him by unleashing goons. "It's been 24 hours since my office has been attacked and the visuals of those who were all present are also there, but no arrest has been made," Tharoor said.
