Quashing all rumours of joining the Bharatiya Janata Party, Sharmistha Mukherjee, head of Congress Mahila (women) wing in Delhi and daughter of former President Pranab Mukherjee, has categorically denied the news of her joining the BJP which was doing rounds on social media earlier in the day.
In a tweet, she said that he was enjoying her time in the mountains but the news of her joining BJP hit her like a torpedo. She asserted her faith in the Congress party by saying that he joined politics as she believed in the Indian National Congress and would rather leave politics than leaving Congress.

She did not stop there. In another tweet, he tagged her father, former President Pranab Mukherjee in the tweet and cautioned her of fake news adding that his speech would also be twisted and used by RSS for it's advantage.
Hope @CitiznMukherjee now realises from todays’ incident, how BJP dirty tricks dept operates. Even RSS wouldn’t believe that u r going 2 endorse its views in ur speech. But the speech will be forgotten, visuals will remain & those will be circulated with fake statements. 1/2

In the last tweet, she said that even Pranab Mukherjee was responsible to an extent for giving BJP/RSS the opportunity to peddle fake news by accepting RSS invitation.
